About Figtree Clay
Each porcelain piece is unique and handcrafted with love & care by Samantha in New York City.

Porcelain serves as the background for all of my pieces. I love how delicate and stubborn it is to work with. Its qualities have taught me to slow down. I hand build a variety of vessels; lanterns, slab-pots, dishes, ornaments, jewelry pendants. I decorate my pieces with underglazes, primarily red and blue, but more recently I've been experimenting with brown and green underglazes, too. I'm also quite fond of decorating porcelain with metallic lusters. I've heard that mixing gold and silver together is a faux pas, but that doesn't change the fact that it's my favorite color combination of all time. I also think brown and black are a perfect match.
